Drawlines Misfits: Marvel’s Captain Marvel 2

Marvel’s Captain Marvel 2 is coming out in 2022 but o man did WandaVision set it up for us, along with SpiderMan Far From Home of course. So what’s in the movie so far?

This could be speculation: New update to the movie. We might get a chance to see another character, the Blue Marvel. A character that was created in 2008 by Kevin Grevioux. First, for those that don’t know the writer… its this guy!!

And for those that didn’t se the movies Underworld… you suck! Go watch the movies they are pretty good. I didn’t know, that he was a writer but I’m happy he is. Look at this guy. He literally played a beast in movies.  Now the character, I don’t know anything about this character but I will definitely read up on him and see what I can learn. Disney seems to do very well on taking secondary characters that you wouldn’t expect to be so good in a stand alone movie. I hope this character really does well in the movies because it would be sweet to see his own origin story play out in Disney Plus.

According to the news site GWW, there’s a current casting call for a male, between the ages 20-30, to play a supporting role in the film. While there is no race specified for the character, it does specifically state that the studio is looking for a Michael B. Jordan or John Boyega type. Given all that information, it seems as if the studio could potentially be looking to cast Adam Brashear a.k.a Blue Marvel. Given the history that the character has with Monica Rambeau it would make the most sense.

So far from WandVision, Monica Rambeau will be meeting Nick Fury in space. If you take a look at our WandaVsion articles we got an in-depth article talking about what will be going on moving forward after WandVision.

We first saw Monica (Akira Akbar) as a kid in Captain Marvel. Her mother, Maria Rambeau, was Carol’s best friend and had the call sign Photon. Her Daughter Monica as a kid met Captain Marvel and meets the Skrulls. Nick Fury was just a young agent along with agent Coulson. All and all I thought it was a good movie! I’m not going to get into to much details here only because we have already written about the movie in another article if you’d like a recap on the first Captain Marvel movie just click here

Then we are apparently going to be introduced to Ms. Marvel? Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), she will have on her own show on Disney+ later in 2021 before Captain Marvel 2 comes out on July 8, 2022. The Pakistani-American teen hero has been a hit since her comics debut in 2014. She is based in Jersey City, she idolizes Carol Danvers, fangirls over Wolverine, and tries not to get in trouble for coming home late after going on patrol. Kamala Khan made history as a Muslim-American superhero, but mostly fans just find her funny and charming. Her friendships with her best friends Bruno and Nakia are authentic and complex, and they hold her accountable for being a good friend even though she’s a hero. Kamala Khan was created by a team that includes editor Sana Amanat, writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Jamie McKelvie.

Now if we look back at our in depth look into Captain Marvel the first movie. We go a little into the name Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel. It does back about 40 to 50 years, ya! It’s not like they just pulled names out there buts for the movies!! They pulled names out there butts for there comic books then they kinda just stuck around. So, now the name Ms. Marvel has been available and Marvel gave it to the new character Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani).  There has been a lot of good reviews over this character and Marvel (now owned by Disney) is looking forward to broadening the MCU character list for the next phase. Kamala’s signature power: her ability to change her own size and shape. She can be larger than her own house to small enough to float through an air duct. How are they going to explain these abilities will be beyond me cause at this point, like I explained in the Superman Reboot article. This story has now gone from “maybe can be a real story” to, “Mutants, witches monsters oh my!!”.

Many of Monica Rambeau’s powers complement Captain Marvel’s, including the ability to fly, travel through space, and shoot energy from her hands so her abilities will definitely complaint Captain Marvel in the movie. I’m not sure how Ms. Marvel is going to play her role. Has she already been using her powers? Is she going to get it within the movie and she cant control it? But its going to be interesting to see how they wrap her into the storyline and how to explain her abilities. (See what I did there? Wrap her into… no? ok!)
