Keanu Reeves is coming back as Neo… Whaaaat is happening!

Let’s forget for a second that The Matrix was done about 20 years ago and all the actors are much older now. The original movies especially the first one was fantastic. The other 2 could of probably of been merged together cause that 3rd one was a bit of a drag. But none the less the effects were fantastic, I think they more or less held up today. The 3D graphics used in that first movie really pushed the envelope to the graphics today. All the characters were weird, in a good and confusing way, I guess?

For those that want to know more about the Matrix here are the trailers for the first 3:

The Matrix

The Matrix Reloaded

The Matrix: Revolutions

This new one though is a bit more far-fetched than the Matrix movies we have seen before. Like… Neo died. Ya, that’s not an exaggeration, he is dead…How do you just bring someone back to life? Ok, I take that back, there is a way that the machines can bring anyone back with the proper resources and since the machines are like Gods to us I guess I can see them work on Neo. I mean if humans are just batteries, batteries can be fixed. All it takes is to restart the body and download his memories, boom done. I guess we will have to see. I’m glad they got everyone back to do their part though.

For those looking for the breakdown of the last 3 movies and online game so you can get a better idea of what to expect in the new movie here is a guy talking about it:

UPDATE: Review The Matrix: Resurrections

What?…

Mm, Ok.

So the movie is out in theater, and on HBO Max. Thank you HBO Max because Covid is running amuck again and I don’t want to be around people. I never want to be around people but that’s another story!

So first off, I love that Neo is now a game designer. But the story goes over so many things so fast that you actually have to re-watch it just to understand what is happened, not including all the little easter eggs referring back to the original Matrix movies. Apparently, the machines allowed Neo to create a pocket Matrix? Where he created his game in telling his “imaginative” story which is the last 3 movies. Which is a great beginning if you ask me. For anyone that hasn’t watched Battlestar Galactica… you guys suck! But the way they restarted that series from the 80s is to call the 80s series all together just one big ass war. Which makes sense and it worked. They didn’t redo the series they continued it.

The confusing part is when another main character goes into the packet matrix, sees the story of what happened in the original movie but notices it’s not the same people and the story was edited. This person somehow gets spotted by the pocket matrix agents (bad guys). She tries to leave the pocket matrix only to get chased by one of the pocket agents which is the new Morphius (replacing the original). I didn’t even know this but Morphius got killed by a bunch of bees in a mask and a trenchcoat? Its not a movie, the story was put in a 2005 to 2009 online RPG game. Now… this is what’s bothering me. Throughout the story new Morphius is mingling with the actual people in the actual matrix. Wouldnt he be surprised that he is a pocket creation made by a human and not the matrix program? it’s been 20 years and Neo is dead? Or in the real world apparently, it’s been 60 years. And now apparently programs can now join people in the real world which is a cool concept and surprising to me, why not to him?

I don’t want to keep going on but I think they should have slowed down a bit and put more explaining in another animated series before this movie came out. ORRRR Keanu Reeves has a new comic book out, why didn’t he make up “The Matrix” comic book? Or / and anime like before when they explained how this whole Matrix started. I don’t think the movie was bad but its not the same structure as the original movie. Originally they made a badass movie and they wanted more money so they kept the story going. Here they are keying the story going but is not sure if people today will grasp the info that is given explaining the past, the present, and what needs to happen in the next movie. It just never works like that unless it’s a TV series

But there is a scene that even Neo is shocked to see. After Neo gets out of the matrix with a new body apparently he finds out robots are working together with humans and that robots started their own Civil War to claim battery stations. Which is actually the main overall story that is trying to be explained for whatever amount of movies. The machines have made to many robots and now there isn’t enough power to go around. But I don’t get it, these machines are built like hive minds, so how do they all of a sudden have free will? Another storyline that they are playing here is a love story for this movie which is Neo and Trinity. But there is a truce between the humans and the machines, right now. How do the two stories come together? Well, Neo and Trinity apparently powers the machines up to 50% alone. The machines keep them close to each other in reality.

Trinity is married with kids. Apparently, the two can’t be separated or they somehow are aware that they are in the matrix. Ya, so apparently the machines have had to restart the matrix or restart Neo and Trinity’s digital lives several times and the only way to keep them from noticing is to change Neos look every time they reboot. Ya, it’s a lot to take in for a movie especially when you haven’t seen the first three movies.

The movie also touches a tiny bit on “synthients” instead of calling them “robots or machines’ kind of like when someone wants to be called “they” mirroring the issue of pronouns and labels. Then we have the government issues that they bring up since Zion is now gone and people moved over to a new city that robots and people can live together on.

Again, it is a lot to take in. It’s not a bad movie but it needed more work if you ask me or at least more devoted fans? I’m not sure. But all of this can actually still be fixed if Keenu still chooses to proceed with the story.
