Drawlines B&M: Board of Education Tech Savvy?
Advertisements

Good day! I hope everyone is surviving the viral apocalypse as we go day by day trying to plan for tomorrow and hope that no new bad news hits us. One way to combat this global pandemic? Send the kids home to learn instead of go to school. Can’t we do that as the new norm?

Schools are not as far behind on tech-savviness as you think. For those of us who have kids, we send them to school then we are checking their work online to make sure it’s complete. We are communicating more with the kid’s teachers and really helping our kids make sure that they are getting what they need like never before. Parents that don’t know about the school’s online forums and websites should get on board because it can help your kids in the future. But now, with this virus attack hitting worldwide, remote learning for kids is very important so they can try to stay on the planned curriculum. Think about this. I’m guessing you all know where I’m going with this. Why haven’t the school setup these remote education systems correctly?

What I mean by that is, there are so many different ways to educate kids in today’s technological society. One primary reason which I keep thinking about is take a look at some business colleges. Most colleges and universities have college students work online for their classes. There are online classes to learn web design, graphic design and other career opportunities for a certain amount of money or for free using YouTube.

But online education for younger kids is kind of all over the place because there is no main “Board of Education approved” video channel. If the Board of education actually took the time to have an instructor go through the curriculum and made monthly playlists on Youtube then it wouldn’t matter if these kids are, homeschooled, sick, planetary virus attack before an alien invasion, kids can still learn what they need to learn. If the Board of Ed chose to publicize and monetize the videos then it would be another way to fund the schools bringing millions a year to public schools.

I’m not trying to dismiss the people and companies who actually did have this idea and are now making money off the opportunities given like these guys here:

But this does show how much money the education system could have made, with the help of sponsors and parents willing to encourage this type of educational motivation. With whats going on, not just the virus, but bullying and school shootings…the option to home school your kids should be revisited with the Youtube videos as part of the curriculum.

Facebook, since 2 years ago I believe has started combatting YouTube by creating their own shows that you can watch on Facebook. Maybe I’ll see the Board of Education making a deal with Facebook to have educational videos done soon?

I own Drawlines LLP, I have worked from home or remotely for 7 years. I drive to other locations for meetings and appointments, and most of my video chats/phone calls are recorded… or they used to be (THANKS GOOGLE!!!!) to help me finish these large, very detailed printing/web projects. But the reason why I chose that route was because I thought the world was going to make the same moves. I was wrong lol!! But educationally, after this virus attack is over, I still believe that the only kids that should be going to school right now are the special needs kids that really need that one on one interaction or any kids that need that interaction below a C+ grade. Kids that score A+ – B- they can work from home. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have the answers for everything… but it makes more sense to now try to maintain these remote working capabilities for future worldly events as these events will get worse and as a society, we depend on old medical traditions to solve new attacks.

But what do you think? Is what I’m saying crazy or do you also believe that with all the technological advances we have done so far we should at least consider any of what I have said here? It’s not just education in another article I talk about the positives and negatives of remotely working at home as well, click the link here to read more about it if you are interested.
