Its been 6 months more or less since I’ve put my computer together and 4 months give or take since superman put his PC together with practically similar specs. Give it to Superman to take the spotlight right!! Thanks, Superman!

The reason why I’m bringing up my PC is because of my business. Like I have mentioned plenty of times already my business will always be working remotely and adaptable to as many situations as possible. So for me to go from a laptop back to a PC is great but only cause of the power it gives out. If my client wants me to work out of his office or I have a meeting somewhere other then my work area I’m screwed. It’s a BIG PC! I can’t lug a heavy white metal box around and monitor all over new jersey/new york!

Since the pandemic, these tech giants finally are doing what my brother and I have been setting up for years. Programs that compensate for none upfront business meetings and workspaces. So my next step was to have a tablet that can remotely connect to the PC from anywhere through local wifi or wifi hotspot through my Tmobile phone. So let me introduce to everyone the Surface Book 3.

Look & feel

I have to say its freak-in slick as fuck! Very smooth! All these YouTube videos I watched and the one thing they say is how nice the keyboard and trackpad is. And yes, they are right! The 15″ screen looks beautiful with rich color. But Adobe Photoshop is actually giving me some sort of graphics issue, what’s up with that? Like all tablets its got that nice “new” feel but also, you cant crack this baby open and change RAM or SSDrives around. Unless you got the Surface Pro X. Then you can change SD Cards like External Harddrives which is smooth to do! I am a little sad that the power of the i9 processor cant run something like this though.

Surface Book 3 for Business
Processor: Intel Core i7
Graphics adapter: NVIDIA Quadro
Memory: 32 GB
Display: 15″, LED backlighting
Storage:  1TB SSHD

Pricing

Microsoft has a really good product depending on what you will be using for. This is not a product for everyone, not even for business. I went to the Microsoft website instead of Amazon to really make sure I get the most powerful product. No other store has this product with these specs…except www.protectedtrust.com and I was able to get a good discount and free shipping. While Microsoft asked for $4,000 I paid $3,400 which is a big difference.

Laptop Mode

When the device is on laptop mode it runs so smooth. The keyboard lights up. Things load correctly. Right now I’m testing the Adobe suite but I also understand that I’m running ONLY a…new?… i7 processor, not the best new i7 processor apparently just the one that doesn’t give off the most heat. Even though this is a moderate i7 processor, itssss basically the same i7 processor from my 12-year-old laptop. That means I had a laptop with an i7 since…2007ish – 08? Just to show people my very beautiful old laptop made by ASUS Republic for Gamers:

Asus G73SW-TZ083V
Processor: Intel Core i7-2630QM 4 x 2 – 2.9 GHz (Intel Core i7)
Graphics adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M – 1536 MB, Core: 675 MHz, Memory: 625 MHz, Shader speed: 1350 MHz, ForceWare 261.14
Memory: 16 GB
Display: 17.3 inch 16:9, 1920 x 1080 pixel, Hannstar HSD173PUW1, 43.94 cm, LED backlighting, glossy: yes
Mainboard: Intel HM65
Storage:  1TB , 7200 rpm, two-hybrid hard drives with 2TB in total
The Surface Book 3 is smaller, thinner, sleeker, and its a bit faster. I’m hoping this laptop will last just as long.

Tablet Mode

We have a photobooth for our photography. For those that don’t know, some photo booths you can build yourself. Which is what we did. One part of the photo booth was a tablet for display that would be attached to the camera and printer. The tablet that we use is an old used surface pro…5?. My brother uses the tablet for presentations, meetings, basic documentation, and so on. The tablet mode for the Surface Book 3 with the specs I paid for is not only good for basic business uses but its also good for an on the go art season. I’m an artist! My brother and I draw things! I want to start trying digital art, so far I think I got the basics down.
Why do I make everyone look so mad?!

A bit About Me

I’ll use it for what its meant to be used for or I’ll convert it to another photo booth display. Either way, I’m planning on making my money back using this device. I am happy I got it now but we will see what happens. I pay a lot of money for my devices cause I’m cruel and I force my devices to there limits. Most laptops and PCs are on for months at a time. My old laptop has died, crashed, froze so many times and I brought it back from the dead so many times it’s my digital zombie. My old laptop is now being used by one of my kids. He takes it easy, turns it off when not being used so on.

My Thoughts

The specs for the Laptop” is not up to par compared to what a modern PC and high-end laptops should be. This is an i7, PCs get an i9. They could have used a lower end i9 or i8 which would have compensated for the heat and it would look good to advertise. They also could have extended the battery life through the keyboard. The sound system sucks which they could have fixed by added 2 more speakers on the keyboard end and a tiny subwoofer for that good base. But a laptop that converts to a tablet is great. Microsoft should have made the tablet side more independent from the keyboard by adding the capability to charge directly to the tablet. Which shouldn’t be that hard just create an adapter that magnetizes over the charger port that comes with the laptop already. For those businesses that most of the time only need the tablet for whatever they need it for. I’ll write up an update to this experience in 2 to 4 years but my goal is to keep this device for another 10 years. either
