I watched it. Netflix’s Masters of the Universe Revelation. Same artists that drew Castlevania. Thank you for that! Kevin Smith produced it. Got some good actors to voice act like Mark Hamill and Sarah Michelle Gellar. New actors that I haven’t seen yet like Chris Wood and I have to say… It was alright for the first season.

So a little history… This happened in the 8os!

Then this happened in the 80s!

Then we tried to bring it back in 2002, that didn’t work out so well. The show ended in the middle of the second season because they didn’t have enough toy sales. The artwork was alright, had that 2000 blocky type art but doable.

Now we got this!

I hate that shows are now less the 15 episodes, which makes no sense since we can pop out episodes faster now than 30 years ago.

Finally, an actual story for these characters. What I mean by that is a story that goes beyond the one episode. He-man and his people were just like scooby doo back in the 80s but with bubble muscles, man it was ridiculously boring after seeing them doing the same thing over and over after a whole season. The 2002 series started well but for me, the artwork wasn’t there, and like always they made the show to sell the toys. This new series I understand that this is more for kid / teen show. He-Man finally uses the sword the way it should have been used but if you ever saw the 80s version people used to be more careful about what kids watched on TV. Now… not so much! Today it’s ok to stab people with skulls and purple blood!

The best part is that they didn’t do an introduction try to undo the series for the Netflix series. What they did was similar to Battlestar Galactica. They continued the story and called the old series a “great war” or “after all these years…” As if the show never ended and this is just the next problem to solve.

They did a great job giving each character their own space to grow after all these years. What are they looking for. Why do they do what they do. What I’m hoping for is to see Atom and Teela build their relationship. I like that Teela lost her respect for him. They can build their relationship back together. That there are problems to fix. There are other relationships that you don’t expect as well. Also a new character or two.

What I didn’t like about the show. The new power for villains to try to grasp is “tech” goo? And something called the Motherboard?! Magic is one thing because it’s made up so you can wrap that excuse over to “magic”. It was magic’s fault! But drinking tiny shards of metal dust and instead of dying you somehow grow tech on your body, I can’t stop laughing about it.

Some people are complaining about the show being more about Teela and not having enough He-Man. They say the show is about him but technically the title says “Masters of the Universe” so the title itself doesn’t really pinpoint one particular person. Now they are trying to sell subscriptions. People are giving the show bad reviews without watching the second season which is stupid but people just can’t wait to leave them thoughts!!

Some people say that these episodes dumb down men and boost up the women in the show. Teela was to self-absorbed when He-Man / Atom died. Naah, I would of been pissed too if the person I risked my life every day for years didn’t tell me who he/she was. On top of that he is the prince, why wouldn’t he tell her? Why wouldn’t the queen tell the king? You would think the king would of been the one to know that info. Her father and Teela’s job is to protect the prince from danger… Every time he turns to he-man he is in danger!!

In the last episode, you thought it would be like any other end…… No, there’s more!

We will see what the other 5 episodes will show us.
