Tom Hardy is back as Eddie Brock and man do those words sound so sweet! For those that have not seen it you better go see it!! Trust me if you are as much of a Marvel fan as I am then it is worth watching. But is the movie worth watching?! Or what comes after the credits?…
I have to admit after Avengers: Infinity War I really thought that was the high point of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I can gladly admit that it isn’t! Disney and Marvel are hitting a new level of TV / movie combo entertainment through their Disney+ Streaming channel. I brought Marvel up in a Sony article for a very good reason and I hope you’ll take this hint and go watch this movie. So moving on!
The movie almost starts where it ended on the last one. But he does find a way to make some type of comeback in his career by having an interview with Cletus Kasady. He is a murderer that somehow becomes Carnage. For those Spidey comicbook fans, Carnage is just as famous as Venom due to its comicbook run in the 90s and its own comicbook series.
They focused on the dark humor which I still appreciate. There aren’t that many movies that can give out good dark jokes. But they haven’t really built up Eddie Brock as a growing character overall. I have seen growth between Venom and Eddie, as odd as they are their bond is easily a flip of a coin. They either annoy each other or they work well together. Kinda like brothers! I might be wrong though and if I am please comment below. I mean, the actor, Tom Hardy, still acted the part, and Venom and Eddie still had issues with each other. Sadly it was a bit repetitive. But it is VERY obvious that things will change in the end.
The fight between Venom and Carnage was very good and I hope they keep this style for the next movie if there is one. Like Riot there is a lot of mixing of the symbionts while in the fight but not as much as Riot vs Venom to the point that you can notice who is winning. Sony has a mixed bag of feelings on this one.
